Donation to Coronach & Dist. Volunteer Fire Dept.
In March 2015, the Coronach and District Volunteer Fire Dept. Fire Chief, Gavin Perry, submitted a request for a financial donation towards their fundraising efforts for new extraction equipment. Their existing "Jaws of Life" were over 15 years old and not always effective on the metals used in newer cars. The cost to replace their current equipment with new Extraction Tools is approximately $35,000. The request was taken to the Southland Co-op Board of directors and they approved a donation of $5,000 in two payments. The first $2,500 was presented to Fire Chief, Gavin Perry, on May 23, 2015 and the second $2,500 was presented in January, 2016. We would like to thank our local volunteer fire fighters for the sacrifices they make. We appreciate you!!
